HEY! Where have you been? Oh, wait. Sorry. I was talking to myself.
I can't BELIEVE it has been two months since my last post, BUT, here are some things I have done in my free time:
1. Writing (and turning in) a book.
2. Building a new, GIANT community and educational website.
3. Moving my entire Institute ON LINE so everyone can have access from anywhere.
4. Bought Christmas presents.
5. Wrapped Christmas presents.
Well, really, I just put them into bags and smashed some tissue paper on top, but, I meant well.
6. I didn't skimp on any walking or sleeping.
7. I grew about 1,000 more inches around my mid-section.
8. I went to Hawaii. For. Two. Weeks.
And let me tell you something. I am very cold now that I am home. Seriously. I am wearing socks and sweats and I've been home less than 24 hours.
I want to send out a huge THANK YOU for everyone who has sent me emails checking on my (and my family's) health. We are all fine. And I really missed posting, but something had to go. And, it couldn't be my walking or sleeping, so.....that's where I have been.
I am back now and let me say, we have A LOT of items to discuss. Here are just a few things I need to cover in the next couple of weeks:
1. Dr. Oz's Super-Kegel. People, you should know I came THIS CLOSE to poking something into my eyeball when he said that the best way to build pelvic floor strength is crossing your legs (like kids do when they have to pee), and squeezing your butt and inner thighs as hard as you can.
I wonder if he know how many thousands of hours physical therapists have spent trying to get women to STOP using their adductors instead of their pelvic floor. And how many thousands of hours on a biofeedback machine have been used to get women to stop clenching and start firing correctly. I'm glad I didn't poke my eyes out because I will need them to write this all down for you.
Look for another top-to-bottom pelvic floor blog because I know you still don't get it entirely. Which is ok.
2. I need to post the winners of my holiday gift blog. Obviously, when I said holiday, I meant Valentine's Day. You knew that, right?
3. We need to discuss the American Journal of Medicine's recent article Achieving hunter-gatherer fitness in the 21(st) century: back to the future. {http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20843503 (read the abstract here)} Looks like getting back to long distance walking, outdoors, squatting, natural surfaces, minimal footwear, maximizing strength-to-weight ratios, and keeping intensities low are the key. But you readers already knew that, now didn't you!
4. We need to talk about why you can't spot-fix your body. You have to fix the entire thing in order to optimize your health. It's time to get serious.
and
5. I need to start on my next book.
Oh yeah, and I need to give birth here pretty soon too.
But I'm on it.
