Description and Program Logistics:
Learn how to see the way you're moving in a more nuanced way! Move Your DNA Weekends are fun, two-day sessions designed to give you a strong foundation in aligning your body well during a variety of exercises—-including walking and squatting—so you can start learning how to be your own personal trainer and guide yourself to moving more with greater ease and less pain. Using 40 exercises from the bestselling book Move Your DNA as the curriculum, you'll leave the weekend knowing how to nourish your body with movement, head-to-toe.
Workshop is limited to 10 students per instructor so you get plenty of individual attention and learn how to fit all our exercises to your body. Three quarters of the course will be on the mat, but you'll also spend time applying good form to walking, hanging, and introducing your feet to “vitamin texture.” We aim to maximize the fresh air and outdoor experience, because moving together, outside, is what our DNA expects. Whether you are new to exercise or a movement professional wanting to give more technical instructions to your students, the skill of breaking down an exercise, body part by body part, will pay off again and again.
Move Your DNA weekends include:
- thirteen hours of instruction over two days
- practice of 40 MYDNA exercises
- small group training (1:10 instructor/student ratio)
- minimal footwear/barefoot experience
- introduction to walking with better alignment
- connection with other lovers of alignment and natural movement
- a downloadable exercise workbook you'll receive when you register
- a life-changing experience worth traveling for
