Hey! You’re invited to a book launch party! THE NEW BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED, the U.S. pre-orders have all been shipped, and now it’s time to party (details at the end of this article).
Packing book pre-orders is a lot of work, but every time we do it, it’s one of my favorite weeks of movement. Here’s how book-packing movement macros break down:
Big-Body Work: Unloading and stacking book boxes from pallets, moving boxes again to envelope packers.
Making Movements: Repetitive grabbing of books and envelopes to stuff a few thousand times leave hands and fingers fatigued at the end of the day.
Carrying: Carrying boxes of book orders to the car and then into the post office.
Active Rest Positioning: Stuffing envelopes takes days full of standing work, ground sitting and squatting in different positions. There are also heaps of get up/get down movements (when you need another box of envelopes or books).
My Perfect Movement Plan LAUNCH PARTY
August 6th 10:00a–11:30a Pacific (That’s 12pm in Chicago, 2pm in Toronto, ON; 6pm in London, UK; 5am Thursday in Auckland, NZ. You’re welcome.) REGISTER HERE!
I always have some sort of launch party for a new book. Sometimes it’s in person (a DIY dinner party or a book walk!) but these days it’s more practical to host a gathering online for our global audience of movers.
This party is on Zoom and it’s free! To celebrate, we’ll not only explore movement plans, how they work, plus support, tips, and guidance with party co-host Dr. Diana Hill, psychologist, there will also be…
- Door Prizes (audiobooks, posters, paperbacks, online courses)
- Games (yes, there will be a little movement)
- Community Sharing
You’ll get even more out of this event if you’ve been filling in your workbook, but of course, everyone is welcome, no matter whether you have the book yet or not.
Hope to see you there!
